The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) updated the public on the fatal Amtrak train accident that took place on Sunday morning in Cayce, South Carolina. After the NTSB conducted an initial investigation of the train collision, it was determined that before the Amtrak train collided with the freight train, the train switched to the wrong track. Once the train switched from the main track to the side track, and crossed four tracks, it hit the back of the freight train, which caused the accident that left two fatally injured and more than 100 passengers with varying personal injuries. The NTSB will further examine the crash to see if any other factors contributed to the collision.
